That's a good point, Katrina. The generational difference would probably change the opinion quite a bit. I'll push Thomas to incorporate that on his next piece.

Interesting assortment of people interviewed, but I was surprised you didn't include any interviews with young people. As a second generation Filipino kid, Memorial Day was always weird to me because my family would go to the cemetery and have a big picnic. The first day of my first job was the start of the Memorial Day Sale at Macy's in the Village.

It makes me wonder how other young people view the Memorial Day experience.

Fascinating and a joy to watch. I have a couple technical questions about how this film was edited and/or shot (as a theater guy, I'm not sure my thoughts are right).

It seems to me that to achieve a loss of motion-blur you would have perhaps 3 options:

1. edit out frames so that the blur becomes less defined as there are no longer as many frames capturing motion in any one elapsed period. (at first blush, this seems like it would possess a "jerkier" feel than the film has.

2. digitally edit the blur out. (this would require a super0computer and a genius software engineer/mathematician),

3. or does shooting at 4 fps somehow create this effect by itself? Do we naturally experience motion blur and the effect of watching 4 fps interfere with this?
