Wide Ruled’s “why”
Students are graduating high school illiterate, kids that do “succeed” in school are the ones who know how to fill in multiple choice bubbles, and the supposed “great equalizer” has failed to erase zipcode as a leading factor in predicted future earnings. Not to mention, kids are bored out of their freaking minds.
Education in America is in desperate need of reform.
For centuries we’ve given lip service to a liberal education where every kid was given an equal shot to influence and impact the world. As we know, that just hasn’t been the case. The worst part, schools are critical in the lives of children right now. Teachers know this and are busting their butts trying to both inspire and equip their students while keeping up with ever-changing standards and regulations.
Wide Ruled is here to encourage and empower these teachers to do their work so they can be a part of creating tomorrow’s better world by creating today’s better classroom.
Wide Ruled is released online biweekly via Brainroot’s website and on iTunes and other podcast aggregators beginning March 1.
